Elon Musk’s social media platform X is testing a new dislike button for post replies that will affect how these rank. X hasn’t confirmed this information but multiple users on the platform have reported it.
According to TechCrunch , the company—formerly Twitter—had already tested this feature across all posts in 2021. Now, the new function seems to be working only for selected users. The icon looks like a broken heart on the iOS app and is located right next to the heart—like— button. Users have shared videos of how the new button looks like and how it works.

MacRumors researcher Aaron Perris shared on X , images of the icons X is testing and how it works. After clicking on the dislike icon, a message requesting to confirm the decision shows up: “Do you want to downvote this post?” Other users got similar messages with different wording.
People have shown interest and opinions on this new feature, and have compared it to other platforms like Reddit’s downvote feature. “On Reddit this just leads to zealous groups who dislike certain things to brigade hated posts with negatives to unduly affect the perception of it and bury it,” explained one user, “It also leads to dissent (people who don’t fit in or go against the groups core views) being negged into the ground even if they make a good point.” Another user seemed to find a clear purpose: “Let’s all agree to dislike that posts that have nothing to do with the original content.”

This new feature comes just weeks after X announced that they will be removing the Likes section from profiles and that this will remain a private feature. Likes on posts are still an active feature, but users cannot see who liked the post. X has been working on multiple updates this year. From officially changing the URL from Twitter.com to X.com , to likes features updates, to ending partnerships with other companies.

Etsy Updates Policies to Include AI Art and Adds New Tags to Clarify Human Roles

Etsy updated its seller policies on Tuesday adding new tags and allowing entrepreneurs to sell AI art but not prompts. The American e-commerce, known for its handmade and human artwork items, redesigned its house rules and published a new document called Etsy’s Creativity Standards.
“After carefully considering the complex issues surrounding AI-generated content, we have decided to continue to allow sellers to use their original prompts in combination with AI tools to create the artwork they sell on Etsy,” shared the company on its official stance on AI creations. “We believe this decision aligns with our values of supporting artists through the evolution of art.”
In the new creativity standards, the company introduced four new labels that every product must include: “Made by a seller”, “Designed by a seller”, “Sourced by a seller”, and “Handpicked by a seller.”
For the category “Designed by a seller” Etsy clarified that sellers can include AI artwork they created using prompts. “Creations that were generated using AI tools (e.g. AI image generators such as Dall-E) based on a seller’s original prompts,” defines the document. “Sellers must disclose within their listing description if an item is created with the use of AI.”
However, Etsy forbids users to sell AI prompt bundles. “We believe that the prompts used to generate AI artwork are an integral part of the creative process and should not be sold separately from the final artwork,” Etsy staff explained.
Etsy also highlighted that users must follow the rules regarding sexual content and nudity and that it is forbidden to sell content that can infringe on the rights or privacy of others.
Even though it is allowing sellers to publish AI-generated content, Etsy considers its approach pro-human and is part of its new campaign. The company promised to stay tuned on new AI updates, understanding people’s concerns about AI taking over human art , and providing unique solutions in the market.
