Apple Partners With OpenAI And Brings New AI Upgrades

Apple is bringing new AI features to its operating systems iOS 18 and macOS 15, including a new upgrade to Siri.
According to Bloomberg , Apple is preparing a wide variety of big AI-related announcements for its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), taking place June 10 to June 14. The conference follows leading competitors Google and OpenAI’s demonstrations of their new AI developments .
However, Apple will not launch a new chatbot model like the other tech giants. Instead, the company has recently partnered with OpenAI to integrate the AI Assistants into iOS 18. More details on this new alliance could be revealed during the event.
As reported by Bloomberg, Apple will highlight a new upgrade for Siri, the company’s personal assistant since 2011, focusing on day-to-day tasks. Users will be able to communicate better with the assistant as the company has implemented more natural-sounding interactions and the ability to control apps with voice commands.
Among the new AI features, part of Project Greymatter, Apple will add options like transcribing voice memos, improving Safari web search, retouching photos, enhancing notifications, tools for developers, emailing predetermined answers, and creating custom emojis based on what users write. The latest is a fun AI feature that other companies like Slack have been developing as well .
The new features will be available on millions of Apple devices—iPads, iPhones, and recent Mac chips—that can update to the new operating systems later this year. However, certain tasks will be handled through the Cloud, only powered by the M2 Ultra, one of the company’s latest chip generations.
At the WWDC, Apple should provide more details about the new AI features, impress users and investors, and address security concerns. The new alliance with OpenAI will give the company an advantage against other competitors but also raise concerns about security and privacy. The company has high stakes and should offer a promising event next Monday.

YouTube’s Free-to-Play Games Are Rolling Out to All Users

YouTube announced last week that its Playables game feature is currently rolling out worldwide. The lightweight, free-to-play games can be found under the “Explore” section of YouTube’s mobile apps and desktop website and should be fully available worldwide within the coming months
According to the YouTube team, the current lineup of Playables includes more than 75 mini-games, from crosswords, action, and sports games to more casual and entertaining mobile games like Angry Birds Showdown , Words of Wonders , Cut the Rope , Tomb of the Mask , and Trivia Crack .
YouTube gamers can also save their progress and track their all-time high scores. Progress can be shared with other users by opening the three-dotted “More” menu.
